During my first month with my therapist, I was given this worksheet to read and work on. She noticed that while I was talking with her, that my thoughts followed a lot of these. I wasn’t aware that my anxiety had brought me down paths of low self-worth and stinky thinking.
After a couple of weeks of talking with her, she gave me this worksheet to work on.
While, at first, I thought these weren’t going to work out, I was very surprised to see just how easy they were to use . My homework at that time was to identify which sort of thinking I used on the regular and which ones would best challenge them for me.
So, what do you think? Do any of the maladaptive thinking patterns sound like you? which ways would you like to untwist your thinking?

She said that she was at a hotel in LA. People on Twitter were able to track her IP address and later found out that she was/is in Mountain View, CA. She has not responded/posted on Snapchat in a couple of hours. She said there’s two guys there, one who goes by the name of Tank. They’re black, taller than her (like 6 foot or something) and wearing white and gray. This is a picture of one of the men She sent it to someone who messaged her.
In an interview after the Oscars, Viola Davis said she felt like a princess when she got her Oscar. She followed up by saying she never feels like a princess. In the notes of the gifset here on Tumblr, you’ll notice people, plenty of non-Black people specifically, saying she’s never felt like a princess because she is a Queen.
Now. There is a certain vulnerability and softness that comes with feeling specifically like a princess. A sweet delicate nature that Black Women are often stripped of. If she says she felt like a princess, she should be allowed the room to say PRINCESS not Queen. Queen is often tied to strength and a larger-than-life image that people LOVE to project onto their favorite Black Women, celebrity or not. Sometimes it’s nice….other times, it’s EXHAUSTING. You mean well, but relax.
